This week’s “spotlight” business is Instant Replays, a sports equipment – gently used – resale shop owned and operated by Todd Newton. Instant Replays is located under the Post Office building in Georgetown, at 64 Central Street. Phone: 978.352.8800.

‘It makes cents,’ to shop there, and Todd will save you a ton of $’s when you shop there, because he specializes in previously owned athletic equipment. He also takes pride in cleaning and sanitizing all items that he buys or trades in! He is also very particular about what he buys! His attitude is: “if you were a customer, would you want to buy it?” Great attitude so other customers realize that he will not buy or sell anything, not worthy of his store, protecting other customers!
Todd opened his business, in 1999, and purchased the business from another Georgetown favorite, Emily Taft, 27 years ago!
Instant Replays has been a favorite of parents and kids for years, because he sells almost anything you could think of sports related, and his prices are much lower than retail stores, and you don’t have to wait when ordering it! Parents love his store because, as the kiddos grow you can trade, buy, or sell, as they grow!!!! And his prices are most affordable compared to the big box stores!
I would like to introduce: “Instant Replays Mascot Ollie.” Ollie is a ten-year-old Boston terrier, he will take your shoes for a belly rub!!! Ollie has been treasured by the kids and customers for year. He is entertainment all on his own!
You will also see a picture of Todd’s lovely daughter “Maddy,” who also helped her father build his business. Now out of college and married, she’s all grown up!
Instant Replays offers many brand-named items, in all various sports. Balls, bikes, a ton of gear of athletic equipment including: golf, skating, spikes, padding, every ball you can think of, wrestling, tennis, weight lifting, horse riding, helmets, lacrosse, hockey, snow and cross country skis, cleats … this is the store that offers everything that you need in gently used equipment!
Todd loves what he does, watching the young children excited about their new choices, they leave happy and ready to play the game, and the parents are happy they have saved so much money! “I have met great people here, and I enjoy, what I do,” Todd shared. “Centrally located right next to Crosby’s, and tucked below the Post Office and offices, this has become a sort of town fixture, and it is extremely convenient for customers!”
Being in business as long as Todd has, he has an eye, and mind set of what people want and need. When you walk in his store, you are a person, not just a number. “I want my customers to be happy, feel satisfied, and feel like they got a good deal, and want to come back!
He offers a 4% discount paying with cash and takes credit cards.
All sales are final, but trades are welcome, and he is always willing to make a deal. Remember you’ll find the most interesting equipment there, i.e., parachutes for resistance training, and training ladders!
