NEWBURYPORT – The organizers for the popular Belleville Roots Concert Series want to know what performers their fans would like them to rebook for the future.
In their end-of-the-year newsletter, they ask: “What was your favorite show?!? We are already hard at work trying to book our 2026-27 season, and we know you’re going to like it.”
It might be the ever-popular Tony Trischka Earl Jam, which is scheduled to perform again at the Belleville church on April 18 or any of the other strong performers that have played the roots concert venue. They include Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Cha’s, Cheryl Wheeler or the SteelDrivers.
Other performers you may have seen are Authentic Unlimited, Marcia Ball, CJ Chenier, Della Mae, Dervish, Ruthie Foster, Sierra Hull, Le Vent Du Nord, JD McPherson, NRBQ, Teada and Molly Tuttle.
You can tell the concert organizers who you like by email at bellevilleroots@gmail.com.
Teada kicks off the spring concert for two shows at 2 and 7 p.m. on March 7. Cecilia
The good news is repairs to the 1867 Meetinghouse will be completed soon and some concerts that garner a larger crowd will be performed there. In the interim, the concerts will be held in the smaller, more intimate Stage Room in the adjacent Fiske Chapel complex.
Both venues are part of the church at 300 High Street in Newburyport.
For the year end, the organizers hope to raise $2,500 for friends to continue the concert tradition. “We welcome your support of any amount!”
