Solace for Stephanie Fundraiser Seeks Donations to Help Those With Cancer

Tuesday November 04, 2025

REGIONAL – REGIONAL – The 15th annual comedy night fundraiser for Solace for Stephanie Nov. 22 is officially sold out, but there is time to make a difference in the lives of cancer suffers on the North Shore.

“We are blessed, but sorry to those that did not order tickets in time,” wrote MaryAnn (Mo) Levasseur, a friend of Stephanie, who with the Jenkins family has led this organization.

For those who still want to attend, there is a waiting list on the charity’s web site – www.solaceforstephanie.org.

The Rowley-based charity has helped more than 130 people in its 15 years with direct financial help through gift cards for groceries, transportation and college scholarships for high school seniors in families of cancer victims. With two months left this year, it has helped 15 cancer suffers.

Levasseur called it a pinnacle year, “a year of reflection and rememberance.”

For the event, the organization is still looking for more donations. “If you would still like to participate, there’s plenty of time,” she wrote. “Our raffle is amazing this year with no less than a $150 value for any basket.”

On the web site, there is a button to make a donation.

Levasseur credited Deb Perry for coordinating the raffle again this year.

“This is a pinnacle year, a year of reflection and remembrance,” said. “We need to look back at what we have done. We have stayed together as a family for 15 years. We are united.”

She praised the supporters and volunteers, who come from all over the North Shore. “Their support makes it happen. They are our solace.”

Sponsors include Off the Vine (Rowley), J. Peter St. Clair Dentistry (Rowley), Gregory Insurance (Ipswich), and Profile Research (Topsfield).  Auction sponsors include Tom Amoroso, Larry Smith, Jim Delaney, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and the Boston Celtics (Duane Johnson).

The comedy night will again feature Paul Gilligan, as host and comedians Paul D’Angelo, a favorite, and a new addition, Jimmy Cash.
