GEORGETOWN PLANNING BOARD

Notice is hereby provided that the Town of Georgetown Planning Board will conduct Public Hearings pursuant to M.G.L. c.40A, Sec. 5, on proposed amendments to the Zoning Bylaw. Hearings will be to: a) amend §165-69 Accessory Dwelling Units and b) add language to §165-94 Pre-existing nonconforming structures or uses and c) amend language to §165-7 Definitions for nursery schools and d) change maximum building heights in §165-11, Attachment 3, Intensity of Use Schedule and e) correct Scribner errors in §165 Intensity of Use Schedule and f) amend §165-7 Definitions to add new language for Reduced Frontage Residential Lot as well as §165-11, Attachment 3 to add language reducing required frontage. The purpose of the hearings is to obtain public sentiment so that proper revisions can be made regarding Warrant Articles proposed by the Georgetown Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Public Hearings will be on Wednesday, 25 MARCH 2026. The hearing to amend §165-69 Accessory Dwelling Units will begin at 7:30pm. The hearing to add language to §165-94 Pre-existing nonconforming structures or uses will begin at 7:35 pm. The hearing to amend language to §165-7 Definitions of nursery schools will begin at 7:40 pm. The hearing to discuss changing maximum building heights in §165-11, Attachment 3, Intensity of Use Schedule will begin at 7:45 pm. The hearing to correct Scribner errors in §165 Intensity of Use Schedule will begin at 7:50 pm. The hearing to amend §165-7 Definitions to add new language for Reduced Frontage Residential Lot as well as §165-11, Attachment 3 to add language reducing required frontage will begin at 7:55pm. The hearings will be held virtually via Zoom, at which time all interested persons may appear and be heard in relation thereto. The Boxford Planning Board and the Tree Warden will hold a Public Hearing pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 87, Sections 3 & 4 (Removal of Public Shade Trees) & Chapter 40, Section 15C (Scenic Roads Act) to consider the removal of two trees adjacent to 23 Valley Road in Boxford (Assessor’s Map 14-1-36). Each tree is posted with a notice as required.

The purpose of the hearing is to consider public comments regarding a Warrant Article proposed by the Georgetown Planning Board. These proposed changes will be to update the Town’s bylaws to address the legalization of marijuana delivery and marijuana social consumption in Massachusetts.

The Public Hearing will be on Wednesday, 11 MARCH 2026 at 7:10 p.m. This hearing will be held virtually via Zoom, at which time all interested persons may appear and be heard in relation thereto. You are hereby notified that a Public Hearing will be held via Zoom videoconference on Thursday March 5, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. or such other time when posted for the Amendment to the Order of Conditions #114-1403 by applicant Victor Palermo for the property located at: 18 MacDonald Drive, Map 13-3-12 to amend an existing Order of Conditions and associated approved plan to include a proposed detached garage, accessory dwelling unit and associated site improvements, portions of which would be within 100-feet of Bordering Vegetated Wetland.
