Notice of 401 WQC application pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 1341 and M.G.L. Chapter 21

New England Power Company (NEP)

Pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 1341 and M.G.L c. 21 §§ 26-53, notice is given of a 401 Water Quality Certification (WQC) application filed by the New England Power Company (NEP), 170 Data Drive, Waltham, MA 02451 for the 394 Transmission Line and B154/CI55 King Street Tap Line Asset Condition Refurbishment Project located within Amesbury, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Merrimac, West Newbury, MA. NEP plans to replace existing structures, improve access to structures, and perform a variety of other maintenance activities within the Project corridor. Overall, the activities will allow NEP to continue to provide reliable delivery of electrical service to the region and meet predicted future electrical demands.

Any group of ten persons, any aggrieved person, or any governmental body or private organization with a mandate to protect the environment who submits written comments may appeal the Department’s Certification. Failure to submit written comments before the end of the public comment period may result in the waiver of any right to an adjudicatory hearing.
