ROWLEY AND IPSWICH – Back by popular demand, the Ipswich-Rowley Rotary Club will once again present their ‘Flags for Heroes’ project during May and June. This year, the project will be expanded from Ipswich to include an installation in Rowley.
Who is YOUR HERO? Along with our Hero Servicemen/women and Veterans, a hero is anyone you admire for their courage, outstanding achievements, noble qualities, or who gives back to the community. Last year, we were amazed by the number of Heroes recognized in our community from Veterans to local Fire and Police Services.
The Flags for Heroes project is a large display of full-size American flags, each one dedicated to a hero of the sponsor’s choosing.
If you would like to sponsor a flag during this year, a flag will be dedicated to your hero with a tag that includes their name and title throughout the display period. The display period for Ipswich will be May 27 – June 18 on the South Green, and Rowley flags will be displayed June 18 – July 9 on the Town Common.
There are 200 flag sponsorships available in Ipswich, and 100 flag sponsorships available in Rowley. Each sponsorship costs $50, and proceeds will go to the Ipswich Rotary Charitable Trust. Sponsorships are available in both Ipswich and Rowley on a first-come, first-served basis. This program sold out very quickly last year so please don’t wait.
There is an online registration process this year, and it opens on April 1, 2022, and can be accessed by this link:
