GEORGETOWN – Ellen E. Denno, 81, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, with her loving husband, Stephen, at her side, following a long
illness.  She was Stephen’s cherished wife and deeply loved companion.

Born in Beverly and raised in Danvers, Ellen was the daughter of
the late Stephen and Dorothy (Rollins) Picillo.  She graduated from Danvers High School Class of 1963.

Ellen’s life was defined by a beautiful, lifelong romance with her husband, Stephen. Friends since the third grade, their connection blossomed on July 4, 1964, while watching the fireworks with friends. Soon after their wedding on July 1, 1966, Stephen deployed to
Vietnam. Altogether they shared 61 years of deep devotion and partnership.

A resident of Georgetown since 1971, Ellen was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She shared a deep love for nature and adventure with Stephen.  They spent many years hiking the peaks as avid mountain climbers and members of the Appalachian Mountain Club.

Ellen is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen, and their son, Matthew Denno.

Her graveside service was held at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery & Crematory, 185 Lake Street in Peabody, on Monday, September 14th  Arrangements by O’Donnell – Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations,
