At just 27 years old, North Shore local celebrity Token (Ben Goldberg) has become one of Massachusetts’ most recognizable names in hip-hop. From Marblehead and Salem, the rapper first gained national attention through his viral freestyle performances and rapid-fire lyricism before building a dedicated worldwide fan base, since 12 years old.

Now, as he prepares for the release of his fourth studio album, Token continues to prove that his career is only gaining momentum. Known not only for his musical talent but also as a community supporter, the North Shore artist has evolved from a local standout into a respected figure in the rap industry. His collaborations, performances, and millions of online views have helped cement his place in the hip-hop community while introducing his music to mainstream audiences.

With his relentless work ethic and growing national recognition, Token is quickly becoming a household name. For many across the North Shore, his success is a reminder that hometown talent can make it big on the global stage while continuing to represent the community where it all began. He also shared the spotlight with local artists who performed at his listening party.

Token’s fourth album release party (called “I’m Leaving Soon”), featured him on a set that replicated his recently passed father’s room. He celebrated the new album with this listening event with family and friends at Mary Jane Lee Park in Salem.
