Mello Transfer Station by the Numbers

In only the first four months of operating the new solid waste transfer
station located at 20 Carleton Drive in Georgetown, the Mello team continues to manage area solid waste and recycling safely and efficiently with proven results.

Notably, the transfer station has received, processed, and transported for
disposal 10,453 tons of solid waste through the month of June.

The transfer stations continued focus on recycling has achieved positive results. Mello transfer recycling numbers through June 30th:

222    Tons of bulk metal

32   Tons of freon containing appliances

1,839   Units of Mattresses/box springs

38   Tons of single stream recycling

73   Tons of corrugated cardboard

31   Tons of bagged yard waste

1.3   Tons of televisions – electronic waste

1,070  Pounds of other electronic waste

37    Liquid propane tanks

11   Tons of used tires

47    Pounds of Alkaline/Lithium Ion/lead acid batteries

89     American flags collected for proper retirement
