DOVER, N.H. − Dover High School held its annual Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) awards ceremony and Change of Command early this month at Service Credit Union Headquarters, celebrating the cadets’ achievements and community service.
The ceremony, primarily planned by the cadets, highlighted the students’ leadership skills, organization and teamwork. The event opened with the Presentation of the Colors by the Dover NJROTC Color Guard. Guests then enjoyed a dinner prepared by the Dover Regional Career Technical Education (CTE) Center Culinary Program and served by NJROTC cadets.

During the 2025-2026 school year, Dover NJROTC cadets demonstrated professionalism in leadership trainings, hosting members of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team, supporting the Thunder Over New Hampshire Air Show with the National Guard, and presenting the national ensign at 11 school and community events.
Cadets also competed in four regional drill meets, hosted by the Dover Drill Meet, and volunteered at community events.
Following dinner, cadets were recognized for their achievements by the school and by several national veteran and civic organizations, with 17 awards being presented. The evening concluded with the Change of Command and passing of the guidon, symbolizing the transfer of leadership within the unit.
“Programs like NJROTC provide our students with invaluable opportunities to develop leadership, discipline and a sense of service,” said Superintendent Christine Boston. “I am incredibly proud of these cadets for their commitment both inside and outside the classroom.” ♦
