Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest moments a family can face. To help make that time a little gentler, Dr. Katie Larson has launched Coastal Kindness, a mobile veterinary service offering compassionate in-home euthanasia for pets across the North Shore.
Dr. Larson founded Coastal Kindness with a simple but deeply personal goal: to bring peace, comfort, and dignity to pets and their families in their final moments right where they feel most at home.
As a mobile practitioner, Dr. Larson has often been called upon to perform in-home euthanasias for small animals, allowing her to refine her skills in this delicate, deeply emotional area of care. In the summer of 2025, she completed the CAETA Peaceful Euthanasia Certification Program, which focuses on creating calm, compassionate, and pain-free experiences for both pets and their people. Building on this experience, she founded Coastal Kindness in September 2025 to serve families throughout the North Shore, MA area.
Each visit from Coastal Kindness is designed to be gentle and unhurried. Families receive a personal consultation to discuss their pet’s condition and quality of life, followed by a peaceful, compassionate euthanasia experience.
