Bill Chisholm: Do You Remember Me?

Wednesday March 26, 2025

GEORGETOWN – The big news for Georgetown in the Boston sports world last week, besides the Georgetown Royals’ winning the state high school basketball championship, was that a town native bought the Boston Celtics for $6.1 billion.

That is the most money paid to acquire a professional sports franchise ever, according to ESPN.

Bill Chisholm, the founder and managing director of Symphony Technology Group, is a longtime Celtics fan who grew up here in Georgetown. Symphony Technology Group is a private equity firm founded in 2002.

The Town Common Newspaper would like to know more about Chisholm. If you knew him or played soccer with him in Georgetown, went to college with him at Dartmouth College or at the Wharton School, please let us hear from you.

Maybe you worked with Chisholm at the management consulting company Bain & Company, based in Boston; the investment bank, Paine Webber, or the Valent Group, a venture capital and risk consulting firm. Symphony is based in California.
