This week, we list the lastest posted Parks and Recreation Committees/Commissions/Advisory Committee meeting minutes.
Inn our last column, we listed the minutes for the local selectboard and city council meetings in the area. At that time, Hampton Falls, N.H. held the top spot with the most up-to-date posting of recent meetings minutes, followed by North Hampton N.H., Hampton N.H., Essex, then Merrimac.
Trailing in last place was Wenham (June 18, 2024), followed by Topsfield (July 15, 2024), Hamilton (August 5, 2024), and Georgetown (Sept. 9, 2024).
Of interesting note, until Georgetown’s selectboard took interest in December, their last online posting was July 8, 2024, which would have place them in second-last place, instead of fourth-last in this regional listing.
One of the many ways to engage the community is to issue timely, comprehensive minutes of meetings which summarize the actions taken by a board, and details any votes and especially roll-call votes.
The table at right shows the wide variations of online postings for Recreation committee meeting minutes in our area.
Most towns don’t appear to have an interest in readily and timely sharing meeting minutes.
