Rubbish to Runway 2024 will take place on two nights, Friday, June 21st and Saturday, June 22nd, at Veasey Memorial Park in Groveland, MA.
The theme for the 2024 show will be “Rewilding”.
“The act of rewilding is the reconnection with the surrounding natural world and rethinking the current relationship with nature.” – Isabelle Sain, Content Coordinator & Education Manager @ Threading Change
This applies to fashion as well. We encourage designers to upcycle/re-work vintage/thrifted clothing and accessories in combination with items that would otherwise be thrown away or recycled.
We’d love to see how you incorporate nature into your piece.
For 28 years Veasey Memorial Park has remained affordable for use and open to the public.
Our goal is to create spaces for local artists, which are similarly sustainable and affordable, while expanding community programming and offerings for all.
The money raised from this event will go toward a self-sustaining artist studio project “Lucile’s Cottage”, as well as programming and support for cultural events, public art, interpretive science projects, rewilding efforts and other events and workshops.
