Town of West Newbury

Acknowledges the Resignation of Select Board Member Chris Wile

WEST NEWBURY – The Town of West Newbury acknowledges the resignation of Select Board Member Chris Wile after years of dedicated service to the community he cares so deeply about.

“As we all know life is too short. The older you get the shorter it feels. I have realized that there are other adventures and opportunities that I need to address so I have made the very difficult decision to step away from town government. My thanks to those who have supported me and my apologies for needing to step away. I sorry for any distractions that this might cause. I would like to thank my colleagues and the citizens of West Newbury for the trust and support you have given me. West Newbury is at a crossroad, and I am excited to see the Town continue to focus on building a brighter future. I would like to extend my appreciation to our Interim Town Manager, Sean Fitzgerald, Select Board member Barry Fogel, and especially West Newbury’s Select Board Chair Wendy Reed. I have been proud to serve with all of you,” said Wile.

Chris’s tenure on the Select Board was defined by his commitment to public service, his thoughtful leadership, and his unwavering dedication to making West Newbury a stronger community. Whether discussing local issues, planning for the future, or representing the Town on regional initiatives like the Whittier Tech Regional Agreement Advisory Committee, Chris consistently brought energy, integrity, and a genuine desire to serve others. The Town is grateful for all he has given and wishes him and his family the very best in the next chapter ahead.
