The Georgetown Mass Memories Road Show will take place on Saturday, November 7th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Georgetown Senior Center at 51 North Street. The event is free and open to the public.
Anyone with a connection to the Georgetown community is invited to attend and share their memories and experiences. Bring up to three items in their original format to add to a digital collection that tells the story of life in Massachusetts from the perspective of everyday people. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take keepsake photos and share stories on video. All the items and stories collected at the event will be included in the UMass Boston digital archives at openarchives.umb.edu.
“…one little snapshot is able to speak through you a thousand words… I say through you because you have …pictures and memories [and can] bring them to life. – Dan Meader, Georgetown historian
