TOPSFIELD – The Topsfield Fair, America’s oldest agricultural fair, today announced the winner of the annual Mrs. Essex County Pageant. The winner, Kaitlin Frasca-Moses of Peabody, received her crown during the 55th pageant, which takes place annually at the fairgrounds.
Frasca-Moses was one of four contestants participating in this year’s pageant. The other women were Yesenia Aguilera of Methuen, Janet Foote of Rowley, and Emily Girard of Georgetown.
Frasca-Moses placed third for her Boston Cream “Birthday” Pie in this year’s prepared food contest, which was to make their family’s favorite celebration dessert. Foote placed first for her apple cake and Aguilera placed second with her Tres Leches.
Yesenia Aguilera was named Mrs. Congeniality by the other contestants.
The contestants were judged on poise, general stage presence, an interview, and a culinary arts submission, which this year was their family’s favorite celebration dessert.
The Topsfield Fair’s Mrs. Essex County Pageant is open each year to married women currently living in Essex County who are at least 18 years of age. Each contestant submits a prepared food item. In keeping with Topsfield Fair’s agricultural roots, contestants are urged to “Buy Local” and use ingredients from local farms in their entries.
As Mrs. Essex County, Frasca-Moses will be instrumental in the Essex Agricultural Society’s goal to educate the public regarding the organization’s importance in an atmosphere of fun and excitement through the Topsfield Fair. ♦
