GEORGETOWN, Mass. — Goats, rakes, brush cutters, clippers, and tractors slowly moved forward, clearing piles of debris from the front area of the Georgetown Community Gardens last week.
The effort, led by former selectman and local businessman Alan Aulson got underway despite heavy rains that dominated the region. On Saturday, a few volunteers showed up to take a look at the progress to date. Most activities were postponed until earlier this week due to the weather.
Aulson related that the piles of weeds, vines, plastic, mixed metals and woods would all be removed from the area. Multiple signs were posted to the bulletin board thanking those who have helped Aulson’s efforts to move the rejuvenation project forward. Those thanked to date include:
