GEORGETOWN, Mass. – Putting the finishing touches on her daughter’s creation, Jen Studer and members of the community paused for a quick photo last week at the firepit in front of the 1st Congregational Church of Georgetown.
“Ella created it as her Eagle Scout project as she wanted to create a welcoming outdoor gathering space for the church and community,” Jen shared.
“The project really became a community effort and we are incredibly grateful to those who helped bring Ella’s vision to life. Her project mentor, Mike Bonia, provided tremendous guidance throughout the process, and fellow scouts and volunteers contributed countless hours of hard work shoveling, moving stone and setting up the wall and firepit.
“Several local businesses also supported the project along the way: Georgetown Building Supply, Georgetown Laser Engraving Services, and Daniels Electric. Their help, expertise, and willingness to work with us was truly amazing in helping Ella create such a beautiful space.
Adding those plantings yesterday behind the firepit was the last finishing touch!”
