Robert C. Ash, Jr., 64, of Haverhill, MA, passed away on July 8, 2026, in Bridgeton, ME, surrounded by family after a short, yet courageous battle with lung cancer.
Bob was born on December 31, 1961, in Beverly, MA, the son of Patricia (Nicoll) of Beverly and Robert Ash, Sr. of Topsfield. He graduated from Masconomet Regional High School in 1980. In 1988, he purchased a home in Haverhill, MA with his former wife, Barbara Ash, where he built a welcoming home for his family.
Bob dedicated his career to the optics industry, most recently serving as manager in diamond turning at AMF Optical Solutions in Woburn, MA. He was known for his expertise, commitment, and mentorship.
An outdoorsman at heart, Bob loved boating, fishing, hunting, and spending time in the company of friends on the water or at the pool table. His love for these activities was only matched by the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Ash, and her husband, Tyler Avila, of Billerica, MA; his son, Brian Ash of Derry, NH; his partner, Darlene Belmer of Seabrook, NH; his parents, Patricia Ash and Robert Ash, Sr. of Topsfield, MA; and his siblings, Ronald Ash of Derry, NH, Deborah Moran of Sandown, NH, and Barbara Norris of Newbury, MA. Bob also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A Funeral Service was held Friday, July 24, 2026 at F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home of 14 Independent Street, Rowley, MA, with Rev. Adam Randazzo officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery in Topsfield, MA.
