Senior ‘VegOut’ Market

The Rowley COA and Nourishing the North Shore are excited to continue the weekly Senior “VegOut” market every Thursday from 10am to 11:30am at Plantation Drive, Rowley, MA. Seniors are welcomed to come by and pick out farm fresh produce at absolutely no cost. Registration is not required as this is walk-ins only. Rain location is inside the Community Room, 80 Plantation Drive.

Farmers Market Coupon Book

Income-eligible seniors may be able to participate in the Farmers Market Coupon Book Program. The coupons can be used at a variety of farmers markets in the region and are $25 retail value. A list of participating farmers markets is also available at the COA. Applications can be picked up at the Rowley COA beginning on Friday, Aug. 8th. Monthly Podiatry Clinic

Appointments are still available for our monthly Podiatry Clinic on Wednesday, Aug. 13th beginning at 9am with Dr. Gregory Van Ess. Please contact the COA for details pertaining to self pay and insurance procedures 978-948-7637.

Trip to Cider Hill Farms

Join us as we take a trip to Cider Hill Farms in Amesbury, MA on Thursday, Aug. 14th. The van leaves the COA at 10:30am and will return at 2pm. Participants are welcomed to go blueberry picking for $6. Lunch is available for purchase at the farm. To save your spot on the van, please call the COA at 978-948-7637.

History: Bob Bruseki

Learn about the rich history of our local area with history buff, Bob Bruseki, on Tuesday, Aug. 19th at 1pm at the Rowley COA. “Local History: North of Boston” is a fascinating presentation sure to enrich your knowledge of the area we call home. To register, please call the COA at 978-948-7637.

Nutrition Talk

“Nutrition Talk: Important Nutrients for Older Adults” will be presented by Leigh Hartwell, Registered Dietician from AgeSpan on Wednesday, Aug. 20th at 10:30am at the COA. Topics to be covered include vitamins and minerals, macronutrients, brain nutrition, recipe ideas, food versus supplements. Leigh will also answer any of your pressing nutritional questions. Dental Clinic

The COA will host a dental clinic on Thursday, Aug. 21st from 9am to 1pm by appointment at the COA. Adults will be able to receive a dental screening, cleaning, sealants, and fluoride treatment as needed. The service provider, Polished Teeth Dental, directly bills MassHealth. A self pay option is also available. Registration is required by contacting Polished Teeth Dental at 508-237-5378.

Crafting With Shells

Celebrate summer’s coastal beauty in our “Crafting With Shells” led by Tammy W. on Thursday, Aug. 28th at 2pm at the COA. $5 suggested donation and includes all materials. No prior crafting experience is necessary. Please register by calling the COA at 978-948-7637.
