Mike Anderson for Georgetown Light Commissioner

Wednesday April 23, 2025

GEORGETOWN – My name is Mike Anderson, and I am running for the position of Light Commissioner.

I am a lifelong resident of Georgetown and have worked full time at the school department for many years. I have served the community in many capacities. Starting as a teenager, I was involved in the fire department as a call firefighter and worked my way up to fire Chief.

My community involvement includes serving on the Senior Center Building Committee and acting as the School Department representative for the Penn Brook school Building Committee. I have been a member of the Town Scholarship Committee for many years and was elected to the Board of Assessors, where I served for Eight years. I also participate in various community groups and hiring committees within the town.

Professionally, I owned and successfully managed my own restaurant for 12 years before selling it. I am Currently engaged to Lisa Peach of Rowley, together we have six wonderful children who four who attended Georgetown Schools and two that attend Triton District. My hope is that my community involvement teaches them the importance of helping others and making our community a better place.

I have decided to run for Light Commissioner because I feel my current position as Director of Operations for the School Department provides me with significant knowledge across many trades. My experience sitting on various boards/committees has provided me with the tools related to local Government. Furthermore, I believe my deep understanding of Georgetown and its residents will help me succeed in this role.

Thank you for your consideration, and I ask for your vote on May 12th.  ♦
