Thursday February 20, 2025

HAMPTON, NH – Superintendent Dr. Lois Costa and Principal Dr. Neal Campbell are pleased to share that Hampton Academy has launched a robotics program that provides students with hands-on experience with coding and robotics-related topics.

Students participating in the program have spent the year practicing coding, testing and building robots from scratch in Brian Gray’s technology classroom.

The program allows students to explore practical applications of STEM concepts while emphasizing important professional skills such as problem-solving and teamwork.

While programming the robots to complete a variety of tasks, students are making real-time adjustments, collaborating with classmates to troubleshoot errors, and learning how to effectively operate their robots.

“This program represents a significant step forward in engaging our students with 21st-century skills. It’s inspiring to see their enthusiasm and innovation at work,” said Dr. Campbell.

“It is extremely important that as a District, we are finding engaging ways to immerse students in experiences they can apply to the rest of their educational careers,” said Dr. Costa. “This program will give kids valuable robotics experiences that encourage collaboration, perseverance, and many other life skills that translate far beyond the classroom.”  ♦
