Newburyport Choral Society Annual Spring Concerts
NEWBURYPORT – The Newburyport Choral Society will present their annual spring concerts on Saturday May 4th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 5th at 4:00 p.m. at Pentucket Regional High School’s new auditorium in West Newbury. The concerts include some of the most passionate choral music ever written celebrating the resilience of the human spirit and the power of hope. The performances feature Maurice Duruflé’s glorious Requiem, and 20th Century French composer Lili Boulanger’s majestic Psalm 24. The chorus will be accompanied by an 18-piece orchestra, including strings, trumpets, timpani, harp, piano and organ. Featured vocal soloists will be mezzo-soprano Katherine Maysek, and baritone Will Prapestis. The concerts are funded in part by the Local Cultural Councils of Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport and Salisbury, as well as a grant from the Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation.
