Civil War Roundtable of the Merrimack

There will be a brief business meeting after which we will be joined by author Robert Conner. He will present a talk on his book James Montgomery: Abolitionist Warrior. Montgomery was a leader of the free-state movement in pre-Civil War Kansas and Missouri, associated with its direct-action military wing. He then joined the Union Army and fought through most of the war. He was a close ally and associate of many other prominent abolitionists.
