Civil War Roundtable of the Merrimack – Sept. Meeting
Meeting Wednesday, September 13, 7:30 to 9:30 PM, Hilton Senior Center, 43 Lafayette Road, Salisbury, MA. Long time Roundtable member and self confessed history geek John Manning will make the case that General George H. Thomas was the best general of the Civil War on either side of the conflict as he arguably won the war for the north through his generalship in several key battles (Chickamauga, Stones River, Chattanooga, Nashville, Mills Springs etc.). This event is free and open to the public.
