Merrimack Valley Christian Film Festival is Returning!
Over the years, the Merrimack Valley Christian Film Festival had the opportunity to show many “new releases” including Facing the Giants, End of the Spear, Courageous, Left Behind, and many more. Special guest appearances were made by actors and producers including David AR White, Kevin Downes, Gavin MacLeod, Joe Manno, plus athletes like New England Patriots’ Don Davis and Ben Watson, and professional wrestler Sting. The festival was held each year from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday.
The Merrimack Valley Christian Film Festival took place during Easter week at the Showcase Cinemas in South Lawrence for over 20 years until it permanently closed down years ago and as a result the festival came to an end.
Attendance had averaged between ten to twelve thousand people. Many churches from Greater Boston, the North Shore, Southern New Hampshire, and every area in between, promoted and supported the Merrimack Valley Christian Film Festival.
Admission to the festival continue to be free of charge. Christian film producers and directors would tell you that our film festival ministry was actually a catalyst for the production and release of their movies into major theaters. Such motion pictures included: War Room, I Still Believe, I Can Only Imagine, American Underdog, and many others.
Now, this April, the Merrimack Valley Christian Film Festival will be returning to Vision Max Cinema in Salisbury, located at 201 Elm Street, which is also Route 110, in Salisbury, MA.
Opening dates of the festival are Saturday, April 1, and Palm Sunday, April 2. It will then continue Thursday, April 6, through Easter Sunday, April 9.
Featured films include the new motion picture and true story from Voice of the Martyrs, “Sabina, Tortured for Christ.” Five additional films will be shown including the major motion picture “Jesus,” the most watched movie in history.
