Gloucester Police Remind Residents to Secure Vehicles Following Motor-Vehicle Break-ins

Tuesday October 25, 2022

GLOUCESTER — Chief Edward G. Conley and the Gloucester Police Department would like to remind residents to secure their vehicles and belongings following a recent increase in motor vehicle break-ins.

Over the past few days multiple North Shore communities, including Gloucester, have seen a significant increase in motor vehicle break ins. Vehicles have been entered through unlocked doors and rummaged through, or by forcibly gaining access by breaking windows.

Residents are reminded to always lock their vehicles and take your valuables with you when leaving your vehicle. Never leave your valuables or personal items in plain view in your vehicle.

If community members see anything out of the ordinary, they are encouraged to report suspicious activity to the Gloucester Police Department at (978) 283-1212.
