AMESBURY — The Full Moon Story Slam is a chance to gather as friends and share true stories from our lives. Simply put, a story slam is a competition based on the art of storytelling. It puts a dual emphasis on content and performance, encouraging storytellers to focus on what they’re saying and how they’re saying it. It is an exercise in crafting stories within a set time limit – and it is great entertainment! Story slammers will tell a 5-minute short story based on the evening’s theme: “Cravings.”
If you know that you would like to tell a story, you can let us know by email at info@newburyportacting.org up until noon on September 17th. If you are not sure yet, you will have the opportunity to sign up during the event. The competition will be on Saturday, September 17, at 7:00 P.M.
Criteria for judging:
• The story has an arc: a beginning, a point of change, and a resolution.
• Presentation of the story.
• Time (no longer than five minutes) and connection to the theme.
