Obituary: Paul J. Duval, 89 November 16, 1932 – Jun 15, 2022

Rowley — Paul J. Duval, age 89, of Rowley, Ma., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the afternoon on Wednesday, Jun 15, 2022. Paul was born on November 16, 1932, to Raymond and Marie (Connors) Duval. 

Paul graduated high school and joined the United States Coast Guard at the age of 17, nearly 18. Paul was a Korean War-era Veteran and was faithful to his country. Paul served the country he loved as a Gunman 2nd Class. Paul was later honorably discharged and pursued his college education and obtained his Master’s Degree in Finance. 

Paul married, now deceased, Betty (Floyd) Duval, and had four children, Kathie, Kevin, Ken, and Kerrie. Paul worked in finance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in Administration Finance and retired after 25 years and spent most of his retirement days with his family and playing his favorite sport, golf. 

Paul enjoyed many things, but among his favorites were his family, golfing at the Rowley Country Club, and telling his stories while reminiscing about his days in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was also a proud member of the Rowley Council on Aging where he was a board member. 

Paul is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Marie (Connors) Duval; his loving wife, Betty J. (Floyd) Duval; and daughter, Kathie Duval. Paul is survived by two sons, Kevin and his wife Pamela Duval, and Ken and his wife Debbie Duval; one daughter, Kerrie Duval; ten Grandchildren; two Great-Grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; along with other relatives and friends. 

Relatives and friends gathered for a Graveside Service held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., located at Rowley Burial Ground, 139 Main Street, Rowley. 

In Lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in Paul’s honor to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
