Wednesday April 06, 2022

BEVERLY – The Cabot continues this spring with a fantastic line-up for April. Starting off this month Peter Noone, Titan’s of 80’s Rock and Symphony by the Sea all come to The Cabot stage for a great weekend of live shows. Anything Goes The Musical also comes to the big screen next week.

The rest of the month includes events spanning across genres such as Start Making Sense, The Uncle Devin Show, Marc Broussard, Exhibition on Screen: Easter in Art, Sergio Mendes, Mario The Maker Magician, The Bacon Brothers, $1 Family Film Series – Minions, Soul Rebel Project, The Torch, Community Conversations: Downtown For All, The Zombies, Prince/Bowie and more. Movies will be announced throughout the month.

On April 14, The Cabot hosts The Cabot’s Big Night! This will be a fun night of music and celebration to support The Cabot’s capital improvement plans in order to complete the transformation of a beautiful theater. With musical guest Tedeschi Trucks Fireside Live and very special guest Mavis Staples to perform. General seating is sold out, but a limited number of VIP tickets and sponsorships are available–this is the only way to see the show.

On April 24, The Cabot will host a screening of The Torch, the new Buddy Guy documentary, a portion of which was filmed at The Cabot. After the screening, there will be a live Q&A with director Jim Farrell and featured musician Quinn Sullivan.

Having officially opened Off Cabot Comedy Club & Events last month in partnership with John Tobin Presents, the club opened to a full house on opening weekend. The laughs continue this month with: Erica Rhodes, Glen “Big Baby” Davis, Jimmy Dunn, Mike Paramore, Sheng Wang, Brian Glowacki and Emma Willmann. Full schedule can be found at offcabot.org.

For a century, The Cabot in Beverly has been a local treasure, a dream palace at the heart of the downtown, and a welcoming gathering place for generations of North Shore residents. Originally known as The Ware, the opulent, neoclassical-style theater was built in 1920 by the renowned architectural firm Funk & Wilcox. Originally used for vaudeville shows and silent movies, it was later owned by the movie chain E.M. Loews. In 1976, The Cabot was purchased by Le Grand David and his own Spectacular Magic Company, and for the next 36 years was home to the world-famous magic show. The Cabot is now being transformed into a 21st century venue for audiences of all ages, with nationally recognized live performers, current and classic movies and community events. Since its reopening in November 2014, The Cabot is once again a vital part of the North Shore’s artistic life. The Cabot celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020. Visit https://thecabot.org.
