Celebrate Spring With Greater Newburyport Chamber Pot Fun

Tuesday February 01, 2022

REGIONAL – Signs of spring — much needed after last weekend’s snowstorm – are beginning to appear like crocus in the snow.

The Boston Red Sox equipment truck left Monday for Florida, where assuming the owners and players reach a new agreement, the first spring training game will take place late this month. Bars and restaurants are keeping their collective fingers crossed that no new Covid variant will cancel St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

And the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry is holding its annual Chamber Pot Raffle from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 15 at The Poynt restaurant, 31 Water St.

“Save the date to beat those winter blues,” said chamber president Nate Allard. “Chamber Pot is one of our most successful fundraisers of the year.”

In addition to dining on small plates and seasonable cocktails served in the stylist waterfront restaurant, the Chamber Pot will feature live music by Revel Up Band, as part of the Poynt’s St. Paddy’s Day week of celebration.

And attendees have a chance of winning one of the 21 cash prizes, including the first prize of $10,000, to help pay down those holiday credit card balances. Last year almost 600 tickets were sold, and more than $18,000 in cash prizes were awarded to ticket holders.

“Gather your friends, family, and colleagues to split one or as many tickets as you’d like. Remember…the odds are in your favor!” the chamber’s announcement said.

In addition to a 50/50 raffle and the $10,000 first prize, there will be two second prizes of $2,500 each, two third prizes of $1,000 each, four fourth prizes of $500 each, five fifth prizes of $200 each and eight sixth prizes of $100 each.

Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased at The Greater Newburyport Chamber Office, Greetings By Design, Inn Street Barbershop and Kelly’s True Value.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will allow the Chamber to continue to bring economic development opportunities to members and the regional business community.
