New England Equine Rescue North’s biggest event of the year, The Mane Event

Tuesday October 26, 2021

New England Equine Rescue North’s Annual Mane Event Benefit Auction is virtual this year, online from November 1-5. Log on to www.neernorth.org for the live auction link and check in daily for educational clips, fun animal antics, and stories from volunteers and adopters. Bid on a unique array of items, including vacation home stays, sports memorabilia, art, tickets to popular events, and gift certificates for restaurants, spa services, and local retailers—all just in time for holiday giving. Proceeds support the West Newbury-based nonprofit’s mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing at-risk horses and donkeys and assisting local owners in crisis.

Due to the pandemic, recent demand for NEER North’s services has been overwhelming. Auction organizers are hoping for a record-setting turnout to offset increased expenses. Don’t miss out on this chance to have fun, shop, and help equines in desperate need find a chance for a happy, healthy future.

Things to look forward to at this year’s event:

  • Meet some of the NEER Alumni – including some of the smallest adoptees with their new families and learn how #rescuedoneright makes a difference for both new owners and their equine companions.
  • A cooking demonstration featuring some yummy birthday treats you can make for your equine friends right in your own kitchen.
  • Enjoy a sneak peek behind the scenes at NEER North.
  • Browse our Virtual Silent Auction and bid on some of the amazing items available throughout the week.

Join NEER on Facebook, @NEERNorthplace, for 5 days of virtual entertainment and to learn more about #rescuedoneright, beginning on November 1st.

Since April 2008, NEER North has been helping horses and owners in crisis, primarily in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In January, 2011, the rescue became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and remains dedicated to saving horses, donkeys, and ponies whose lives are at risk in our local area. NEER also works with horse owners to help them avoid crisis situations, network with other rescues and educate the public about equine abuse and rescue.

NEER also actively rescues horses and donkeys in need. There are a wide variety of situations including owner surrenders, abuse and neglect, where these majestic animals are at risk of diminished health or, worse yet, at risk for slaughter.

NEER North is a safe haven where these animals are rehabilitated with the intention of adoption into new families. NEER North also networks closely with other reputable equine rescue organizations, assisting where needed.

All donations are tax deductible.
