Newburyport – Jill Ramsdell, General Chair announced that Yankee Homecoming is alive and well. Her statement to the community follows; “It sure has been one challenging year. And now, as we move into 2021 with a hopeful view, we hope you and your family are safe and strong. It has been a blessing to see the community pull together. Along with many of you, the Yankee Homecoming team played a part. I am proud of the work we have done and continue to do to support our local communities.
Excitement is building as we begin to plan for the 2021 celebration! While we cannot say with certainty, our goal is for YHC to be a lot closer to what you know and love from years past. What we do know is we are committed to bring you a fun, inclusive, and most importantly a safe festival to our community this summer.
2020 was a year of improvisation. We learned by listening to your valuable feedback, observing what worked, and what we should do differently. When you add in the experience and creativity of our volunteers, we are sure we will create a week of wonderful memories for you and your family.
I would ask you to consider becoming one of our volunteers. We are always looking for fresh faces and new ideas. Opportunities range from a few hours of your time to involvement on a larger scale. There are many ways to help and it’s up to you. Yankee Homecoming is a reflection of us – all of us and that is why we would love you to join! Currently all volunteer meetings are held virtually. Please check this website and our Facebook page for meeting details and updates.
It is once again my honor to work with you in the coming weeks and months. Stay safe and be well.”
