The North Shore area has many farmers’ market opportunities. Families can support local farmers and small businesses by purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables while entertaining their kids nearly every day of the week.

CSAs
What is a “CSA”? “CSA” stands for “community-supported agriculture” though this definition is broad. There are many ways to support community agriculture such as shopping at your local farmers’ market, stopping by a local farm stand, etc. Each CSA looks a bit different depending on the farm or organization running it. Some deliver, some have local pick-up spots, and some you have to pick up at the farm, etc. They typically include a once-a-week or biweekly box full of local fruits and vegetables that are in season. Some farms have meat, dairy, and fish CSAs available.
Many CSAs sell out quickly and this year they will likely be very popular. Be sure to inquire and sign up asap!
