Unskilled Laborer – Cemetery and Highway Department
The Town of Rowley is seeking an unskilled laborer to work for the Cemetery Department and Highway Department for 40 hours per week. Position works under the supervision of the Cemetery Supervisor, Highway Surveyor, and Highway Foreman. Position provides assistance to the Highway Department personnel in road maintenance work, including snow removal, paving, shoulder work, and drainage repairs. Position provides assistance to the Cemetery Supervisor in maintaining cemetery grounds, including mowing, trimming, loaming, and seeding lawns. Minimum qualifications include High School diploma or equivalent, and valid Driver’s License. FY 22 Starting Rate is $16.04 per hour with six-month adjustment. Cemetery Seasonal Laborers
The Town of Rowley is seeking seasonal laborers to work in the Rowley Cemetery. This position is responsible for assisting the Cemetery Supervisor in maintaining cemetery grounds, including mowing, trimming, loaming, and seeding lawns. Position is seasonal and works in out-of-door conditions during the spring/summer/early fall months, and there is exposure to the elements of these seasons. Minimum of two years of experience in cemetery or landscaping work or other similar type work required.

Cemetery Supervisor/Highway Truck Driver & Equipment Operator – Cemetery and Highway Department
The Town of Rowley is seeking a full-time Cemetery Supervisor/Highway Truck Driver & Equipment Operator to work in the Cemetery and Highway Departments. This position is responsible for maintaining the Town’s Cemetery property and maintaining and repairing Town roads, sidewalks and drainage systems. The position works under the supervision of the Board of Cemetery Commissioners, Highway Surveyor, and Highway/Tree Foreman. Minimum qualifications include High School diploma or equivalent, valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License-Class B with Air Brake Endorsement and Massachusetts Hoisting License 2-B: Backhoes. A minimum of one year’s experience driving heavy trucks is required and experience using computers and word processing and spreadsheet software is desired. FY 22 starting rate is $25.11/hr. with six-month adjustment. Position is Grade 8 and is in the AFSCME Bargaining Unit. This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing and replacing town roads, sidewalks and drainage systems. The position works under the supervision of the Highway Surveyor and Highway Foreman. Minimum qualifications include High School diploma or equivalent, valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License, 2-B Hoist License and one year of experience in operating heavy equipment. FY 22 Starting rate is $23.48/hr. with six-month adjustment. Position is Grade 7 and is the AFSCME Bargaining Unit.
