NEWBURYPORT – Storm Surge is a volunteer-run community organization in Newburyport promoting science-based outreach and education to encourage municipalities to prepare for the impacts of sea level rise, increasingly severe Atlantic Ocean storms, and other effects of long-term climate change.
Storm Surge will be hosting the first of a series of beach cleanup events for Newburyport High School Students on Monday April 4 at 4:30 pm. Gloves and plastic bags will be available to cleanup volunteers. The meeting place will be the Plum Island Point Beach Parking lot, 278 Northern Blvd, Newburyport. This will be an opportunity to get outside after school, enjoy a walk on the beach and help the environment and community. To register see the website at https://www.storm-surge.org/.
