BOXFORD − Cindy Grande of Boxford has published her first novel, Don’t Call Mandy, a work of psychological suspense released October 10.
The book follows Cassie, a woman who attends her estranged aunt’s funeral after a decade of family silence and finds a hoarded cottage one block from the parents who never visited. As she settles the estate alongside another aunt − charming, elegant and newly attentive− the story her family has told for decades begins to come apart.
Much of the novel is set on Boston’s North Shore, with sections in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region.
Grande wrote stories as a girl, then spent two decades in financial services and set writing aside for most of thirty years. She came back to it recently and now works in real estate in Boxford, Topsfield and Georgetown.
“I didn’t expect to come back to it,” Grande said. “Then one day I started again and didn’t stop.”
Don’t Call Mandy is the first of three planned novels. The second, Imaginary Son, is expected in 2027.
The book is available on Amazon in Kindle ($5.99), paperback ($15.99) and hardcover ($24.99), and is included in Kindle Unlimited. Grande is available for local book club visits and author events, and can be reached at
