NEWBURYPORT− I recently had the pleasure of meeting with two gracious gentlemen from the Old South Presbyterian Church, Reverend Jerry Mullins and Don Pollard, who shared news of special evening that brings faith, friendship, and American history to the screen! In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the church will host a free viewing of A Great Awakening, on Thursday, Oct, 15th, at 29 Federal Street, in Newburyport. The evening runs from 7-9pm, the doors will open at 7pm.
This stirring historical drama explores the unlikely friendship between Reverend George Whitefield, a passionate preacher, and Benjamin Franklin, a printer, and future founding father.
Through their story, the film portrays a spiritual awakening that crossed colonial boundaries, and helped shape a generation in understanding of faith and freedom.
