Alfonso Paglia, known lovingly to all as Al, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2026, surrounded by the quiet dignity of a life well lived. He was born in Italy and immigrated to Canada and the United States, where he built a life marked by faith, devotion, and steady love for his family and community.
Al was a proud and devoted Christian man whose life reflected the values he held dearly. He was faith-filled, loving, generous, and those who knew him were blessed by his gentle spirit and kind heart. Al lived with humility and strength, always carrying himself with the grace of a man who understood the importance of hard work, family, and above all trust in God. His presence brought comfort and warmth to others, and he will be remembered as a man who gave of himself freely and without hesitation.
Al proudly retired from General Electric, where he served as a project craftsman. He was respected by his coworkers for his strong work ethic, reliability, and his willingness to always lend a helping hand. In addition to his career at General Electric, he devoted himself to a family business.
Al found great joy in the simple and meaningful things of life. His passions were soccer and history, as well as his love for sharing stories from the past about his family and friends. He also enjoyed working outside, tending to chickens, and making his own wine, which he loved sharing with friends. Al also loved playing the Italian card game Scopa with family and friends, where laughter, tradition, and togetherness filled the room.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eliana Paglia, his son, Attilio Jude Paglia, his daughter-in-law, Tina Paglia, and his grandson, Cesare Alfonso Paglia. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Angela Paglia, his sister, Phyllis Longo, and his brothers, Luigi Paglia and Donato Paglia. Alfonso is survived by his sisters Maria Procaccini, Sarah DeSimone, and Grace Servizio. He is also remembered and loved by his many nieces and nephews.
