Beverly Police Arrest Man on Warrant for Attempted Murder

BEVERLY – Chief John G. LeLacheur reports that the Beverly Police Department located and arrested a New Jersey man on a warrant for attempted murder in that state.

ANDREW ARIAS-PEGUERO, AGE 54, OF FORT LEE, NEW JERSEY, was arrested and charged as a “Fugitive From Justice.”

Beverly Police were contacted by Fort Lee, New Jersey Police, who reported they were seeking ARIAS-PEGUERO on a felony warrant, charging attempted murder. Fort Lee Police reported that ARIAS-PEGUERO was wanted for stabbing and threatening to kill someone, and that he was believed to be in the area of north Beverly.

Beverly Police located ARIAS-PEGUERO and his vehicle in the area a short time later.

ARIAS-PEGUERO was taken into custody on four warrants out of Lynn District Court and charged as a Fugitive from Justice due to the New Jersey warrant.

Beverly Police Chief LeLacheur said: “Acting on information from Fort Lee Police, we were able to take a dangerous individual off of our streets.”
