PLUM ISLAND – The Captain’s Fishing Parties & Blue River Diamond’s sail the Merrimack River, not the Dnipro River, but on Aug. 18, there will be a sunset cruise to raise money to help Ukraine’s desperate population.
Nova Kahovka for Life, Inc., a Newburyport-based non-profit organization, organized the fundraising event to help directly the people in the Kherson Region, Nadiia Sadowski’s hometown, which is still occupied by Russian troops.
Jarred and Nadiia Sadowski created the non-profit group, based on Plum Island, to send money directly to purchase food for the needy. Nova Kakhovka, which has a population of 44,427, has been under Russian occupation since February 2022.
