Statement of Georgetown Police and Fire Chiefs Regarding Town Election Results

GEORGETOWN — Police Chief David Sedgwick and Fire Chief Matthew McKay issue the following joint statement following Monday’s Town Election results:
“The men and women of the Georgetown Police and Fire Departments, including firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, police officers, dispatchers and civilian administrative staff report for duty day and night to ensure the safety and wellness of the community we are bound to serve. We thank our citizens who turned out to take part in the town election process.
“As leaders who worked to propose a budget that we felt put the safety and health of our residents, businesses and visitors first, we are disappointed with the results. We respect the will of the voters, and our agencies and dedicated employees will continue to provide the best services possible for the community of Georgetown.”
