Ipswich – Ipswich Public Library announces the next featured author for the 2023 Louise & Hugh Johnson Author Series: Julia Glass. Thursday, September 28 (7:30 p.m.) at the Ipswich Country Club (148 Country Club Way, Ipswich, MA). Free. Registration required. The Louise & Hugh Johnson Lecture series hosts well-known regional and national authors. The library is pleased to announce the next author for this author series will be Julia Glass.
Ms. Glass is the award-winning author of seven novels. She writes literary and psychological fiction that is character driven. Her first novel, Three Junes, won the National Book Award for Fiction. Her latest novel, Vigil Harbor, has already received many starred reviews and was just named a Must Read by the Annual Massachusetts Book Awards. Ms. Glass was born and raised in Massachusetts. She lived in New York City for 24 years. She published her first novel at age 46 and dedicated her National Book Award to late bloomer of all kinds.
On September 18, Glass will read from and discuss her books.
The Johnson Lecture Series is made possible by a permanent endowment by Louise & Hugh Johnson. The Johnson endowment was left to and is managed by the Friends of the Library and is intended to enrich the lives of Ipswich residents.
