NEWBURY – The town of Newbury will hold its second annual Town Day Saturday to celebrate local art, music, history, nature, people and places.
Events will take place in the town’s three neighborhoods: Byfield, Old Town and Plum Island.
“The first Newbury Town Day in June 2022 was a resounding success, thanks to the many creative activities and enthusiastic participation of team leaders, volunteers and attendees alike,” the town website says.
The day begins with the Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast at Byfield Community Arts Center, followed by events at Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm on Little’s Lane in Old Town. In the late afternoon, the main events happen at Central Street Fields in Byfield.
All day Plum Island businesses will be offering specials and discounts at its businesses and restaurants. There will also be The Pink House Art Show at the Beachcoma.
The Sunset Grille is hosting a Pink House coloring activity for kids while their parents sip on “The Spite House?” cocktail. Or have a photograph taken in one of the new giant Adairondak chair at Ice Queens with free Pink House sticker.
There will be a Celebrity Dunk Auction, face painting, a vintage baseball game, international miniature aerobatic competition, a picture walk at the town library, tours of the 1877 schoolhouse on the Lower Green and the First Settlers Burying Ground.
