NEWBURYPORT – Newburyport Bank has donated $1,200 as a sponsor of the Oranges from Morgan Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Joslin Diabetes. This event will be held on August 29, 2022 at the Atkinson Country Club in Atkinson, NH.
Oranges from Morgan is a public charity that seeks to counteract the negative stigma surrounding drug addiction by raising awareness and funds, and telling the story of Morgan Mayo, the granddaughter of Damariscotta, ME residents Ernest and Florence Bourgon, who died at 22 years old from a drug overdose.
“Charity golf tournaments are such an ideal way to raise funds for worthy causes,” said Lloyd L. Hamm, President & CEO of the Bank. “They bring together people of all backgrounds for a fun day, and a worthwhile initiative. Oranges for Morgan, specifically, holds events to raise funds for care organizations in need. This year it’s Joslin Diabetes and there’s no underestimating the tireless work they do.
