Broken clasp? Torn clothing? Phone issues? Flickering lamp? Over-loved stuffed animal?

 Don’t Despair, Repair!

Got something to repair? Don’t give up on it yet. Bring it to the Spring Repair Café. The Repair Café is a community gathering of those who have repair skills and those who have things that need repair. At this Spring Café, we plan to offer the following repairs: jewelry, textiles, small appliances, lamps, small wooden items, and electronics (phones & computers). Check our website regularly, including the day of, for updates to the repairs offered.

The Café is FREE and open to all, though donations are welcome. Visitors can bring up to three (3) small, clean items. Repairers will assess your items to see what repairs are needed. The Café is geared toward minor repairs, generally taking less than 20 minutes. Repairers will have some parts and materials available for which a small reimbursement fee may be charged. If you know your item needs a particular part, bring it along. Watch your item being repaired and learn how it’s done. Save an item that has sentimental value and save money!

The Café is a popular event so expect a wait to see a Repairer and enjoy the opportunity to connect with your neighbors. Watch a chair-caning demonstration. Learn about the Time Trade Network of Greater Newburyport where you can share and exchange your skills and expertise with other members. Ever wonder what can be recycled or how to dispose of an item beyond repair? Talk to the Toward Zero Waste Newburyport expert about waste and recycling.

The Repair Café is funded, in part, through a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Service’s Sustainable Materials Recovery Program. It is sponsored by the Time Trade Network of Greater Newburyport and the City of Newburyport’s Towards Zero Waste Initiative. Our thanks to NU Kitchen Newburyport who cater the staff lunch at a generous discount.

We are always looking for Repairers. If you have repair skills you would like to share at a future Repair Café, please contact us at RepairCafeNBPT@gmail.com or call/text the Time Trade Network at (978) 225-3440.
