In December, Newbury Town Library is holding its 5th annual Hat and Mitten/Glove Drive to benefit Pettengill House. Started in 2021, the library has collected over 500 hats and mittens/gloves from the community. Donations are accepted at the Main Desk of the Library at 0 Lunt Street in Byfield during open library hours. All donated items must be new (sorry, no used items accepted), and warm enough for New England winter weather. Hats, and mittens/gloves for men, women, and children are needed. Library staff will deliver all donations to Pettengill House in early January. The library extends heartfelt thanks to those who are able to donate.
