The Dominican Muñeca Limé dolls will be on display through Friday, July 11 during regular Museum hours Tuesdays through Saturdays 10-5 and Sundays 12-5. This exhibit is free and sponsored by a MCC Festivals & Projects grant.

In conjunction with this exhibit, on Wednesday, July 9 from 1 to 2 p.m. we will hold a children’s program for grades/ages K-5 painting miniature wooden dolls in the Dominican fashion of Muñeca Limé. This program is free and sponsored by a MCC Festivals & Projects grant.

For National Disability Awareness Month in July and in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, we will host art shows from two local organizations.

The Arc of Greater Haverhill-Newburyport will display an exhibit titled “Beyond the Surface: Where Creativity, Identity and Voice Come Together.”  This exhibit celebrates the 35th anniversary of the ADA and is intended to explore the power of perspective through self-portraits and original art of all mediums.  They will have a reception for the exhibit on Tuesday, July 15, 5:30-7 p.m.

And the Haverhill Clubhouse will display an art exhibit titled “Finding the Light Through the Dark”. The theme is “respect, that disabilities are not limiting us and as people we are a loving, giving, and forgiving community, proud of who we are. Their reception will be on Thursday, July 10 from 5-7 p.m.  ♦
