GEORGETOWN: Beaver Deceivers?

Wednesday June 25, 2025

Caroline Kipling of Georgetown has offered to have Skip Lisle from beaverdeceivers.com install Beaver Deceivers at some of   Georgetown’s problematic sites prone to flooding.

Caroline had reached out to the Georgetown Conservation Commission and was directed to consulte the highway department’s Peter Durkee regarding his activites directing beaver trapping and other activities (Durkee addressed the selectboard two week ago about trapping of beavers and other beaver activities).

In an e-mail shared with The Town Common, Caroline shared her frustration with trying to get a response to this issue, noting in part: “I can honestly say I never thought it would be so difficult to give away money.  Beaver Deceiver is a win-win situation, for the town and for wildlife. ”

Caroline expressed frustration with not receiving an answer from/cooperation from the town, and seeks intervention by the board of selectmen in this matter. She hopes less-lethal solutions can be employed. ♦
